1. WHO WE ARE
HISTOIRE COMMUNE (HC) is an independently run creative brand rooted in clothing, storytelling, and community engagement. Everything you see here, from our products to our visual archives, is intentionally crafted in limited editions. We often work in collaboration with creatives and artisans from the communities we represent. Each drop is part of a thoughtful creative process.
That means:
+ Our T-shirts are made to order and printed after purchase.
+ Our accessories and ready-to-wear pieces are produced in small runs, often made in direct collaboration with makers from the places that inspire the collection.
This approach keeps us grounded in care, craft, and meaningful connections, even if it means slower drops and smaller quantities.

9. Our Use of AI
We have used AI to help illustrate some of our creative visuals, particularly for our digital models: Koffi, Bart, and Zoey. These characters help us express the vibe and storytelling behind our products when physical photoshoots are not feasible. They are part of our extended team, and we think they are doing a pretty great job.
All AI content is used solely for illustrative purposes. We do not use AI for decision-making or personal profiling.
10. FAQs
Q: Are all collections limited?
Yes. Most of our collections are intentionally limited in quantity. Once a product is sold out, it’s unlikely to return; though exceptions might be made per case (so don’t hesitate to reach out). The idea is to keep each piece special and rooted in its moment.
Q: Why do you only ship once a week?
We’re a small team doing things mindfully. Weekly shipping helps us stay intentional about resources and reduce unnecessary logistics waste.
Q: How are communities involved in the collections?
We ensure the stories we tell come from and are shaped alongside the people they represent. Second, we aim to co-design or produce portions of each collection in collaboration with artisans or creatives from that community. This approach supports visibility, creative exchange, and local investment. It is a work in progress, but the ecosystem is growing with each release.
Q: Why are drops so spaced out?
Fam, what's the rush? Lol Each collection is crafted with intention, and we want to respect the time it takes to do it right, especially when it involves real people, places, and history.
Q: Can I still wear these clothes if I am not part of the represented community?
Yes, absolutely! These stories belong to all of us. Wearing a piece is a way of honoring and amplifying a narrative that may not be your own and that’s a powerful form of connection.
Q: Are the models real?
Some are, some are not. When our budget or timeline makes traditional photography a stretch, we use AI to help us visualize certain characters. These muses have become part of the story, and you’ll likely spot them right away: Koffi, Bart, and Zoey. They’re fictional, yes, but they’re very much part of the HISTOIRE COMMUNE family. Don’t be shy, say hi when you spot them.
Q: Can I collaborate with HISTOIRE COMMUNE?
Why even ask? This is exactly why we do what we do. We are always open to authentic partnerships. Whether you are an artist, craftsperson, or creative thinker with a story to share, feel free to reach out to us at admin@histoirecommune.com.
Q: How can I support the brand beyond buying?
So many ways. You can:
Join our newsletter (we promise no spam, just occasional updates and invitations to our “manifestations,” which is our fancy word for community events). Show up to these manifestations whenever you can and bring a friend.
Share our work.
Offer your own story or perspective.
Introduce us to communities, or spaces aligned with our mission. Treat “ the other” with compassion and love. That is enough.
11. Contact
